In World History, sophomore students are ending the semester with project based learning. The projects have been focused on two time periods: The Renaissance and Imperial Russia.
For the Renaissance, students learned about significant contributors to the Renaissance period in the field of art by creating miniature notebooks providing important information of key players to the Renaissance, as well as their own sketches of famous works of art and sculpture completed by the men/women of the Renaissance.
For Imperial Russia, students are learning about the Czars of Russia before the Russian Empire collapsed and became the Soviet Union. To do this, students are creating a timeline exhibition over the reigns of Russia's Emperors and Empresses. Each student chose a specific Russian ruler to create a timeline over, and when completed, the timeline will be connected and put on display like you would see in a museum.

On October 29, the following students attended a college visit to Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville: Dillon M., Shaylee B., Ashlynn L., Haylea T., and Macy D. During the visit, students toured campus facilities, explored academic programs, and learned more about student life opportunities at Northwest. The experience gave them valuable insight into college life and helped them consider future educational goals.
We had the opportunity to catch up with LHS alumni, Kristen Wood who attends Northwest.
