We officially welcomed 7th graders to our building today. It was an afternoon full of information, pizza, games, tours, Q&A panel from StuCo and meeting their teachers. It was a great start to the 26-27 school year. Can't wait to see the Class of 2032 grow and be awesome!

A huge thank you to our StuCo team for leading tours and their insight during the Q&A panel: Emmagin, Claire, Haygan, Dawson, Hailey, and Kade!

Softball Update: Putnam Co Softball Tournament-8/29/2026. La Plata will play in Pool B with their first game at 9am vs Schuyler on the south field.

The HS track is closed and under renovation until further notice. Thank you for your understanding!

Baseball Update: Atlanta tournament will be 8/29. La Plata plays at 10am vs New Franklin. Let's go Bulldogs!

La Plata R-II welcomed our new staff to the district today. The day was filled with learning all the BULLDOG things and preparing to welcome students! We are so excited for Mr. Snyder, Mrs. Waddle, and Mrs. Campbell as they embark on their Bulldog journey!

An email requesting you to open a fax from Danielle Smoot was sent out. Please do not open this or give any information. This was not sent out by Mrs. Smoot or La Plata School District.

“Back to Cool” event on Monday, August 17th from 5-7pm at the Gary Cunningham Event Center. This event is free to area students and their families. They will be serving free ice cream and passing out school supplies to students. We hope you can enjoy this fun community event!

Fall practices are starting Monday. Be sure all athletes have a current physical on file and a pre-participation form. Extra pre-participation forms are hanging on the high school south doors.
First practices are Monday, August 10th:

HS Softball: midnight practice (12:00am on Monday).
HS Baseball: 4pm-6pm
HS Girls Golf: 9am
HS Cross Country: 7am (HS South entrance)
JH Cross Country will start August 17 at 7am at the HS south entrance.

HIGH SCHOOL Gym will be closed for maintenance Friday (8/7) and will reopen on Friday (8/14).

La Plata Bulldog Fall sports will start soon. Here is the information. Be sure you have your current physical and paperwork filled out. Physicals are good for two years. For general questions contact Coach Fields at
