Drivers across Macon and Adair counties should plan around a string of MoDOT closures starting May 11. Crews will seal coat pavement and patch trouble spots on several Northern Missouri routes through late May, with some closures shifting by the hour.
Route 149 carries the heaviest workload. On May 20, the highway closes from Route 6 to Route 11 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for seal coat operations. The next day the work moves north: Route 11 to Route 156 shuts down from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., then 156 to Route J closes from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Three segments inside a single shift change.
Macon County drivers face a separate Route V patching job. The stretch from Mahogany Street to Oxford Street closes May 11 and 12. Crews then move to Oxford Street through Route PP on May 13 and 14. Both jobs run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Expect delays. Plan around them or pick a different route.
