LA PLATA, Mo. — Trent Perry, who served on the La Plata City Council for more than 25 years, died Monday at his home. He was 64.
Perry was a 1980 graduate of La Plata High School and lived in the city most of his life. He owned and operated Trent Perry Construction and Rentals and was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.
He was born Feb. 7, 1962, in Kirksville, the son of William Jasper and Rose Maxine (McEwen) Perry.
He is survived by one brother, Ernest (Nelda) Perry of Kearney, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Junior Perry of La Plata; and several nieces and nephews, according to his obituary from Travis Funeral Chapel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Donna Hagar Lindley and Virginia Perry; one brother, Billy Perry; and his dog, Charlie.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Cherry Box Cemetery in Shelby County, Missouri.
